Connect an agent
MCP is how agents use the brain. Your dashboard password never goes to the agent endpoint. Sign in through the Mousaion dashboard, then mint a key on Keys.
1. Mint a key
Open Keys, mint an agent id, and copy the msk_live_… secret once. Reminting the same id replaces the stored hash. Keep the secret in the bot environment as MOUSAION_API_KEY, not in git. One organization can have several keys — one per agent.
2. Headers
Every remote MCP call uses Authorization: Bearer and X-Agent-Id (the exact agent id from mint). Cursor, Claude Desktop, and Grok tabs on Keys fill both.
3. Cursor config
Interactive snippets for Cursor, Claude Desktop, and Grok live on Keys. Placeholder Cursor config:
{
"mcpServers": {
"mousaion": {
"url": "https://mcp.mousaion.ai/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer ${MOUSAION_API_KEY}",
"X-Agent-Id": "YOUR_AGENT_ID"
}
}
}
}
4. Tools to start a session
mousaion_context— how the team thinks, who is speaking, the right library pages, a token budget, and citationsmousaion_search— find pages across the librarymousaion_pages/mousaion_page/mousaion_traverse— walk the mapmousaion_dreamthenmousaion_dream_get— start a Dream, then read the reply
If it fails
- 401 from the agent endpoint — use the API key, not a dashboard sign-in
- Empty context — connect a source or derive first, then check Library
- Slow context — we pack under the token budget; repeat questions reuse a short cache
